Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 May 2026

This Privacy Policy is provided as a starting template adapted to a Pakistan-based home-service business. We recommend having it reviewed by a qualified data-protection lawyer before publishing in production.

1. Who we are

Smart Fix ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our services. Our principal place of business is in Lahore, Pakistan. The current contact details for privacy enquiries are listed on the Contact page.

2. What personal data we collect

When you book a service, contact us, or browse the site we may collect: your name, phone number, email address, the address where service will be performed, details about the service you require, payment-method information you submit, and reviews or messages you provide.

We also collect technical data automatically, including IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, and time stamps. Cookies and similar technologies may be used to remember preferences and to measure site performance.

3. How we use your data

We process your personal data to: (a) deliver the services you request, including matching you with a suitable Service Provider; (b) communicate booking, payment, and support updates by SMS, email, push notification, or phone; (c) operate, improve, and secure our platform; (d) detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and (e) comply with legal obligations.

We will not use your data for marketing without your consent, where consent is required by law.

4. Lawful basis for processing

Our lawful basis under the Personal Data Protection framework includes performance of a contract (delivering the service you booked), our legitimate interests in operating a safe and efficient marketplace, your consent where you have provided it, and compliance with our legal obligations.

5. Sharing your data

We share your booking details with the Service Provider assigned to perform the work, including your name, contact number, address, and the description of the work. They receive only the data needed to perform their role.

We may share data with payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, and other technology partners that help us run the service, subject to written data-protection terms. We may also share data when required by law, regulator request, or legal process.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. International transfers

Some of our technology providers operate servers outside Pakistan. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient applies an equivalent level of protection through contractual safeguards.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, plus any period required to comply with legal, tax, or audit obligations. Booking and invoice records are typically retained for at least five years. Inactive accounts may be archived or deleted after extended periods of inactivity.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate data, to request deletion of data we no longer need to keep, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email on the Contact page.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a rights request and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, access controls, and routine audits. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach that materially affects your data we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required by law.

10. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and measure usage. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect site functionality. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes we will give reasonable notice through the platform or by email where appropriate.

13. How to contact us

For questions, complaints, or to exercise your rights, contact our privacy team using the details on the Contact page. We aim to acknowledge enquiries within five business days.
